Folding chairs are an exceedingly useful pieces of furniture, they take up very little space and can be used for any occasion when you need extra chairs. The folding chair can come in a variety of materials wood, metal, plastic and a combination of these.

You might spend several hours seated on a folding chair in such instances.

Spare board room chairs might be needed on occasion, and if any of the board meetings that I have attended are anything to go by , you could be sitting on one of these chairs for a very long time. Make sure you buy the most sturdy and most comfortable folding chair available, because although it might only be used in an emergency, but you might be the one sitting on it. Give your folding chair purchase even more consideration if it is for use in your own home.

Director chairs that fold

A director chair is made from either wood and canvas or metal and canvas. They have a canvas seat and a canvas back and the frame is constructed of either varnished wood or metal. The great thing about a director’s chair is that they can be as smart as you want or as casual. They are frequently used to advertise with a picture, sign or name printed across the back of the seat. They often come with a holder for a cup or bottle built into the arm of the chair for easy access. Deck chairs

A deck chair is the more traditional type of folding chair and probably the original folding chair. It is basically an untreated wooden frame that holds a long canvas seat, of usually a conventional, coloured, striped pattern. They are generally low to the ground and you can lie back in them as they also support your head in their canvas embrace. They are notoriously difficult to set up and often cause a slight rise in the temperature of the user. Unfortunately, they offer very little back support.

The canvas used has to be tough enough to support most weights so these chairs should be stored somewhere very dry so that the fabric does not rot. If the fabric deteriorates, as it may after a number of years, it is a very simple process to buy a length of canvas and renew the seat. Folding chairs are a very useful and comfortable and make a nice addition to your household furniture.
